About Judy

Judy started her cooking journey as a young mother of four children, it was her love for her children that drove her to look for alternative ways of preparing meals that were healthy much longer before it became a fad. One of her children was diagnosed with ADD at a very early age. The traditional approach at the time was to administer strong medications to the child to help him level out. Concerned of the side effects these drugs were giving other children, she sought out alternative ways to help the child achieve the same result, such as using only natural ingredients, cutting off sugar, and using natural supplements to counter the child’s condition.

The same love and caring qualities that made her look for these alternatives are the ones that put her on the path to Urban Elixir Wellness. She has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in psychology from the University of Louisville, and recently received her certification as a holistic chef in Berkeley, CA. As she worked on her certification, the idea of a service to aid people feel better through personalized meal plans was born. She had written on the effects of diet on mental illness before and had the same thought all entrepreneurs get, “what if?”
